dmg :: events to launch Gastech 2017 Japan with backing of nine major local energy players

MONDAY, AUGUST 3, 2015

dmg :: events receives overwhelming support from the Japanese energy community after it selects Japan as 2017 destination for its flagship Gastech event.

dmg :: events and leading Japanese companies from various energy disciplines will hold an event launch to officially announce Gastech Japan 2017 on Tuesday 1 September 2015 at the Palace Hotel in Tokyo, Japan.

The Gastech event is organised by dmg :: events, and has been the world’s leading event for energy professionals involved in the natural gas and liquefied natural gas value chain and related sectors for over 43 years.

To facilitate and provide international industry dialogue, business development and connections, dmg :: events brings Gastech to a different location every 18 months where it is usually supported by a host company, either the national or international energy company involved in gas operations for that country.

Hosts of the previous editions of Gastech include BG Group for the Singapore and London editions, Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) for the Korea edition, Shell for the Amsterdam edition, Abu Dhabi National Oil Corporation (ADNOC) for the Abu Dhabi edition, and PTT for the Bangkok edition.

With gas industry players refocusing attention on new business in emerging Asian economies amidst tightening markets, dmg :: events has responded to these market developments by selecting Japan as the next destination for Gastech.  In an unprecedented move by the Japanese energy community, nine Japanese companies from across a range of energy disciplines have pledged their support to host the Gastech event as a consortium.

This is the first time that an edition of Gastech event has been hosted by more than one energy company, and the host consortium will be collectively known as the Japanese Gastech Consortium (JPGC).

The JPGC and dmg :: events will use the event launch to officially announce the 2017 event, outlining the rationale for Japan to host Gastech, and to invite the global market to attend, contextualising the opportunity Japan presents for current and prospective partners, collaborators, customers and investors. Further details of the JPGC and event launch will be available closer towards the event.

Gastech 2017 Japan will be held from 4 to 7 April 2017 at the Makuhari Messe Chiba in Tokyo, Japan. For further information please visit www.gastechevent.com/2017
